Iconic Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas says he could not "be more grateful" for the warm welcome he has received upon moving to Portuguese football club Porto from Real Madrid over the summer.
The former Real and Spain captain on Wednesday said he was "very excited" by the reception he has been given in Portugal and that "the affection of the fans is the biggest prize an athlete can achieve", reports Efe.
"I cannot be more grateful for the affection I have received from the fans, the club, my teammates, my family and my friends," Casillas said in a statement, adding that being at the Portuguese club feels like "home."
The former Real star, where he spent 16 seasons on the first team, is preparing for Porto's friendly match against Valencia in the German city of Cologne on August 1.
