CBI nabs two directors of ponzi firm

The CBI on Monday arrested two directors of a company for allegedly raising public money illegally.

Pinaki Ranjan Choudhary and Tapas Pramanik, directors of Akashdeep Projects, were arrested here, said a CBI officer.

"They were involved in criminal conspiracy with other directors and collected crores of rupees from the public and misappropriated the amount," said the officer.

Akashdeep Projects is one of several non-Saradha Group companies against which the CBI had filed cases for illegally collecting public money assuring high returns.

The two directors will be presented in a city court on Tuesday.
