In a financial assistance package to the Arvind Kejriwal government, union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday announced Rs.3,250 crore for decongestion and development of the national capital.

In addition, the union minister also announced another Rs.96 crore to Delhi, which is intended to be spent on the cleanliness in the city.

The minister, who was speaking at the launch of 'Clean Delhi' campaign organised by the Delhi government, said that under the package the city government will be provided Rs.1,500 crore, Delhi Development Authority with Rs.1,665 crore and north municipal corporation of Delhi with Rs.85 crore for executing various projects.

"Among the various projects include construction rail under bridges and over bridges, construction of long tunnel and completion of Dwarka Express Way between Urban Eastern Road-II and Northern Peripheral Road."

On the occasion, the amount of Rs.96 crore announced for cleanliness in Delhi was further sanctioned to the municipal corporations, which have been facing funds-crunch in recent months.

Naidu, on the occasion, complimented Kejriwal for launching Swachh Delhi campaign and roping in the three MCDS.

He noted that "central government, Delhi government and municipal corporations of Delhi together launching Swachh Delhi campaign is an affirmative statement of 'Team India' spirit at work as desired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

The minister said Modi and Kejriwal should not become "enemy" in politics but work together.

"...we need to respect people's mandate to Modi and Kejriwal and should not become enemy in the politics, but instead focus on development," Naidu said at the launch of 'Swachh Delhi Abhiyan', a campaign for cleaner Delhi," said Naidu.

Also present on the occasion were the mayors of North, East and South Delhi Municipal Corporations.

Earlier on Monday, Kejriwal launched 'Swachh Delhi' app that enables residents to apprise authorities with pictures of garbage, while announcing Swachh Delhi Abhiyan from November 22 to 30.
