Union minister of state for human resources development Upendra Kushwaha on Friday said the central government is planning to revive Vikramshila University, an ancient seat of Buddhist learning in Bihar, on the lines of Nalanda University.
"My ministry is working on revival of Vikramshila University on lines of the revived Nalanda University," Kushwaha told the media here.
He said like Nalanda, Vikramshila was also the pride of the country and there will be some good news on this front soon.
Last year, then chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi announced that all possible efforts would be made to revive Vikramshila University.
