The central government Thursday roped in a social networking website to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pet project "Swachh Bharat" mission a "mass movement".

"The ministry is taking the help of LocalCircles - a community social media platform," said an official statement from the urban development ministry.

"A national circle, 'Swachh Bharat' has been launched and already 1,70,000 citizens have joined this circle," it added.

This social media platform enables citizens to easily come together, exchange ideas on cleanliness and take up appropriate cleanliness activities in their neighbourhoods, the statement said.
