The Border Security Force (BSF) has signed a pact with a charitable trust under which four seats would be given to the children of officers of the force every year at its schools in order to provide them with quality education, an official said on Tuesday.
An MoU was signed on Monday between Ravinder Taneja, trustee of TDI Shiksha Sansthaan, a charitable trust and non-profit organisation, and BSF Inspector General (Admin) Alok Kumar at the south Delhi Lodhi Road-based headquarters of the 2.5 lakh strong force mandated to guard the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh borders.
According to the agreement, the children will be selected by a board of BSF officers and accepted for admission by the management of TDI International School. The move will be adopted from this year's session.
"This facility will be further extended for TDI international schools at Mohali, Agra, Panipat, Moradabad and Faridabad.
"Under this MoU, the TDI Shiksha Sansthaan, will provide four seats every year from Classes 6 to 12 in its TDI International School located at Kundli in Sonipat (Haryana) along with boarding and lodging facilities to the wards of serving and martyred BSF officers," a BSF statement said.
This pact is an initiative of TDI to recognise and salute the selfless service of BSF personnel who have been serving the country or have laid down their lives to safeguard the borders of nation, it said.
