Children's Day this year will be a holiday for all schools and government offices, and cultural programmes and other activities will be organised for children on the day at over 100 places in the city, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Monday.
Sisodia said November 14 -- Children's Day -- would be declared a holiday for all government offices and schools, and directions to this effect would be sent to the private schools as well.
Addressing the media, Sisodia said "Dilli for Children Festival" would be organised at over 100 locations across the city on November 14.
"The festival will feature sports, arts and cultural programmes and activities, in which children can participate."
He said the government would facilitate locations for the festival and different groups, including NGOs, residents' welfare societies and individuals, would organise different activities on the day.
"We want to send a message to the children that Delhi enjoys with your enjoyment," Sisodia said.
Schools and offices were being given a holiday to encourage people to attend the programmes with their children, the Deputy Chief Minister added.
