Chile's second choice goalkeeper Johnny Herrera will take part in the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, even though he has an ongoing legal case.
A court in Chile Friday ordered Herrera to report to a police station in Santiato every 30 days while it is determined whether he breached a driving ban, reports Xinhua.
The goalkeeper was sentenced to 41 days in jail in September 2013 and a two-year ban from driving after he was arrested for drunk driving.
Herrera, goalkeeper of Chilean club Universidad de Chile, was caught driving a vehicle while he was making his way to a training session of the national team in December.
This was not the first sentence Herrera has received. In December 2009, he was sentenced for involuntary manslaughter for running over a 22-year-old woman who died. His driver license was revoked for two years.
Herrera is the substitute for Claudio Bravo, first choice goalkeeper and captain of the national team.
