Sixteen teams started their journey towards continental glory in Qatar, but only eight now remain ahead of this week's eagerly anticipated quarter-finals of the AFC Under-23 Championship.
China lost all three games and are ranked fourth in Group A. The championship is also a qualifying tournament for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Therefore, the Chinese U-23 team once again failed to win a berth at the Olympics, reports Xinhua.
On Wednesday, Australia was forced to a 0-0 draw by Jordan, earning four points from three games to rank third in Group D and missed the chance to play in Rio.
In quarterfinals, Japan will play Iran, Qatar will compete with North Korea, South Korea will play Jordan and the United Arab Emirates will challenge Iraq.
