Four people will face trial for their involvement in a terrorist attack at a railway station in Kunming March 1, China's top procuratorate announced Monday.

The Kunming Municipal People's Procuratorate found that the suspects were involved in organising, leading or taking part in the terrorist attack as well as intentional homicide, Xinhua reported citing a statement issued by the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

A group of assailants armed with knives attacked civilians at the railway station in the provincial capital of southwest China's Yunnan province, killing 29 people and injuring 143 others.

Police shot dead four of the attackers at the station and arrested four others.

Iskandar Ehet, Turgun Tohtunyaz and Hasayn Muhammad are accused of leading a terrorist organization and planning the attack.

Patigul Tohti is accused of being involved in organising and executing the killings, according to the statement.

The procuratorate has initiated the case in the Kunming Municipal Intermediate People's Court.
