Three more people were confirmed to be infected with H7N9 bird flu in three provinces, Chinese health authorities said Saturday.
Infection of a man, 35, from Wuxi City in Jiangsu province was confirmed Friday night, Xinhua quoted provincial health department as saying. He is is in critical condition.
A 72-year-old man from Fuqing City in Fujian province was also confirmed as infected Friday, bringing the total infections in the province this year to 17, of whom five have died.
A 55-year-old woman from Boluo County of the neighbouring Guangdong province was also confirmed to be infected with the bird flu. She was in critical condition, according to the provincial health department.
China has reported more than 120 human H7N9 cases this year, including at least 36 deaths.
