The 15th China Wuqiao International Circus Festival (CWICF) is set to begin on September 29 in the city of Shijiazhuang.
Twenty countries and regions will participate in the festival, the CWICF announcedon Tuesday.
The festival, including competitions and stage performances, will feature various techniques including trapeze and street dancing, Xinhua news agency reported.
The closing ceremony will be held on October 7.
Known as the "oriental acrobatic arena", the event first debuted in 1987 and has been held every other year since.
The CWICF is named after the birthplace of acrobatics, Wuqiao county in Hebei province and is considered one of the three best known acrobatic competitions in the world.
Similar competitions include the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival in Monaco and the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in France.
