China will be the partner nation in the Surajkund International Crafts Mela that will be held in Haryana next year, an official said on Tuesday.
A participation confirmation from the China tourism administration has been received for the 30th Surajkund International Crafts Mela to be held in Surajkund in Faridabad from February 1 to 15, state principal secretary tourism Sumita Misra said in a statement.
Crafts persons, cultural troupes and master chefs from China will present their talent and skills, the statement said.
Misra said the participation of China as the partner nation would gel with the agreement signed during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to India in September 2014 in which it was decided to commemorate 2016 as 'Year of China in India'.
