A 37-year-old Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) trooper committed suicide by consuming poison, police said Friday.
Satish Kumar was found unconscious at his residence in west Delhi's Bawana area Thursday morning.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead. The cause of death was due to consumption of a poisonous substance.
"No suicide note was recovered from his possession. Initial investigation suggests that he was depressed over some family issue," said a police officer.
According to the officer, Kumar, who worked as a driver in CISF and used to ferry Delhi Metro CISF officers, had come to his residence around 8.30 a.m. after completing his night shift.
