Civilian killed in Afghanistan car bomb attack

At least one civilian was killed Saturday as a car bomb went off in the western part of this Afghan capital, an official said.

According to the official, the target of the attack was Mohammad Masoom Stanikzai, the secretary of the Afghan High Peace Council, Xinhua reported.

Stanikzai escaped the attack but several cars of his convoy were damaged in the blast.

The blast occurred at 7.00 a.m. in Kabul's Charrah-e-Qambar locality.
