Taking advantage of a truck driver going for a short nap, three people stole suits and sarees worth Rs.40 lakh from his vehicle on Delhi-Haryana border, police said Sunday. The accused were chased and arrested by police.
A police spokesman said here that the three accused, including a woman, were arrested from the Kundli area on Delhi-Haryana border.
Truck driver Rakesh told police he was taking a consignment of clothes from Delhi to Punjab when he stopped at Kundli, 35 km from New Delhi, for a nap. When he woke up, he found the lock of his truck broken and most of the goods missing.
He immediately informed police who arrested the three accused and recovered the stolen goods, police said.
