It was a cloudy morning in the capital Monday with the minimum temperature settling at 28.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above average for this time of the year. The met department has forecast light rainfall later in the day.
"The sky will remain cloudy. Light rain and thundershowers may occur in some areas," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The maximum temperature Monday is likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 83 percent.
Sunday's minimum temperature was normal at 27 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was 36.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above average.
The national capital has recorded 431.4 mm of rain since the arrival of early monsoon in June.
