Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi Friday said the state will move ahead with "development for all" as he hoisted the national flag on Independence Day.
"The government is committed to development for all and Bihar model of development is inclusive," Manjhi said at an official function to mark the occasion.
This was the first time Manjhi hoisted the national flag after became the chief minister in May this year.
He appealed to people to maintain social and communal harmony as he said it was a must for development and peace.
He also reiterated the demand for a special category status to Bihar.
"I request to the central government from this platform to grant special category status to Bihar for its fast development and growth."
