Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said his party was the biggest force that fought the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh and its ideology.
"It is unfair to say that we are not fighting the RSS and their ideology. We are the biggest force that fought RSS," Gandhi said while speaking at the national conference organised here to observe the 125th birth anniversary of India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
He was responding to a question from by a panelist during a session on secularism.
"The stated policy of the RSS is to create a theocratic, autocratic state in India. For the first time in India a fascist organization which is openly opposed to values of the constitution has acquired decisive power," he said.
