A 45-year-old Delhi Police constable was critically injured after being hit by a car allegedly driven by a drunk man early Saturday.
The incident took place at around 12.45 a.m. in east Delhi's Pandav Nagar area when constable Raghunandan and his two colleagues were manning a police picket, a police officer said.
Raghunandan was admitted to a hospital in a critical condition, the officer said, adding that car driver Sidhant Kashyap was caught and his vehicle was confiscated.
This is the third such accident in the past seven days in Delhi.
On Dec 13, two policemen died after a car driven by a drunk man hit them at a police check post in south Delhi. On Dec 18, a 55-year-old sub-inspector was crushed to death by a speeding truck in Alipur area.
