The Delhi government Wednesday faced the ire of hundreds of contractual workers who protested outside the Delhi secretariat.
The workers, posted in various departments of the Delhi government, have been working as teachers, nurses, paramedical staff etc for the past many years.
Shouting slogans like "Aam Aadmi Yahan hai, Arvind Kejriwal kahan hai" (Common people are here, where is Arvind Kejriwal), the workers refused to budge from the secretariat, saying the AAP government too has only been making promises but not keeping them.
"We had met the chief minister earlier and he had assured us that we will be made permanent. But so many days have passed but not a single step has been taken. They have started behaving like the others," said Anita, who has been working as a nurse for the past 19 years.
