Cooperate in monitoring development works: Delhi government

The Delhi government on Friday instructed all three municipal corporations of the city to cooperate in monitoring the developmental works in the national capital.

Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia issued instructions to the commissioners of all three MCDs for monitoring developmental works carried out with Delhi government funds.

"All the three municipal corporations should cooperate with the Quality Assurance Unit in the monitoring of developmental works in the city," he said.

The instructions come in the wake of complaints that municipal corporations were not supporting the Quality Assurance Unit in monitoring the developmental works.

Sisodia said the government got the work done with its fund through various bodies, including all three municipal corporations, public works department, Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, and Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation. All these come within the domain of Quality Assurance Unit.

"Every developmental work is done with the public money. So it is responsibility of the government to ensure its proper use and quality in the developmental works," he said.
