A Court of Inquiry (CoI) has been ordered into the death of two Indian Military Academy (IMA) cadets in Dehradun, informed sources here said on Wednesday.
Sources said the CoI was ordered as per routine procedure, and would look into what led to the death of two cadets and illness of five others.
According to the Army, the two IMA cadets succumbed to exhaustion and dehydration during training.
Cadets Deepak Sharma and Nabin Kumar Chhetri passed away on August 18 and 19, respectively, after both fainted during a 10-km run as part of their training near Dehradun.
The two cadets were participating in a training camp for first-term cadets of the IMA in Badshahi Bagh in Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh.
