KSCA President's XI were within sight of taking a first innings lead against KSCA Secretary's XI as they ended the second day on 297 for six in 98 overs in reply to 311 all out in the final of the Safi Darashah All-India cricket tournament here Sunday.
Centuries by opener Samarth Ravikumar (121, 170b, 14x4) and Shishir Bhavane (106 batting, 9x4) and their 148-run partnership for the third wicket propped up the President's XI innings.
Secretary's XI pegged their rivals with three quick wickets to reduce them to 215 for five.
However, Bhavane and KC Avinash (30) added 78 runs for the sixth wicket to take President's XI to within 14 runs of their opponents' total.
