Technology innovation company Cube26 on Thursday said that it was foraying into IoT (Internet of Things) with the introduction of new category called 'iota' under which the company will soon launch smart bulbs.

According to the company, the new category will help it to map the entire technology ecosystem encompassing utility software, devices, local ecosystem services and data analytics.

"We plan to come out with innovative, accessible devices across different platforms powered by Cube26 software," said co-founder Saurav Kumar.

"We wish to make IoT a reality in India and devise products, solutions and services which are locally as well as globally relevant," he added.

Cube26 software currently resides on more than 5 million devices, or four percent of all mobile users in India. Recently it has received significant funding from Tiger Global Management and plans to use the capital for business expansion and extend its software expertise to other connected devices and form-factors.
