The Indian men's team narrowly lost a semifinal berth after going down against Wales in the lawn bowls Fours event at the 21st Commonwealth Games here on Thursday.
The Indian side comprising Chandan Kumar Singh, Sunil Bahadur, Alok Lakra and Dinesh Kumar lost the quarters 15-17 to Ross Owen, Stephen Harris, Marc Wyatt and Jonathan Tomlinson of Wales.
Earlier, India entered the quarter-finals after thrashing Norfolk Island 25-17 in their final sectional play at the Broadbeach here.
Meanwhile, it was also the end of road for the Indian women's pair of lovely Choubey and Rupa Rani Tirkey, having lost their quarter-final tie 11-17 to the Malaysian duo of Emma Firyana Saroji and Siti Zalina Ahmad.
