CWG: Lifter Sanjita gives India first gold

India Thursday opened its medal count at the 2014 Commonwealth Games with Manipuri girls Sanjita Khumukcham and Mirabai Chanu Saikhom winning the gold and silver medals, respectively, in the women's 48kg weightlifting competitions at the Clyde Auditorium here.

The bronze went to Nigeria's Nkechi Opara.
