Czech tied 1-1 with Russia after first day in Fed Cup final

The Czech Republic were tied with Russia 1-1 in the tennis Fed Cup final after the first day's play.

Czech player Petra Kvitova defeated Russian player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 2-6, 6-1, and 6-1, while her teammate Karolina Pliskova lost to Maria Sharapova 3-6 and 4-6 on Saturday, reports Xinhua.

The other two singles and possible doubles will be played on Sunday.

The first singles game will be Kvitova playing against Sharapova, the other will be played between Pliskova and Pavljuchenkova.
