Ryan Reynolds-starrer A-rated superhero film "Deadpool", which has been loved by critics and audiences alike, has raked in Rs.29 crore in just 10 days in the country.
"We are thrilled with the response for Deadpool from Indian audiences across the country. After a terrific opening, the film has had a great run at the boxing notching 29 crores in just 10 days. This is a fabulous number and beyond our expectations, considering it's not even a franchise film," Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, said in a statement.
"Deadpool has a massive word of mouth in both English and Hindi, and we are positive that the film will do extremely well in the coming weeks as well," he said.
In India, the film has outnumbered the lifetime figures of franchise-based films such as aceStar Wars" and "Captain America" in just 10 days.
Directed by Tim Miller, the film also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skerin, T.J Miller and Gina Carano.
