Sydney Football Club (FC) coach Frank Farina Friday said he had full confidence in captain Alessandro Del Piero, amidst rumours about the Italian star looking to leave the A-League.
There have been widespread speculations that Del Piero would leave the club by the end of the January transfer window and the 39-year-old Italian has recently been targeted by Thai Premier League side PTT Rayong, reports Xinhua.
Early this month, it was rumoured that Del Piero had accepted a lucrative offer from David Beckham's former club, LA Galaxy.
Farina said Friday that the Thai club was most probably an older rumour and Del Piero is committed to Sydney FC.
"We're in a situation where we're still very much in the fight and close to everything so his focus is on Sydney FC at the moment," he told reporters in Sydney.
"I'm not worried at the moment and I hope there's no need to (be)."
