The Delhi government on Tuesday constituted the State Names Authority (SNA) that names/re-names government roads in the national capital, for which Lt. Governor Anil Baijal has given his nod.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will be SNA Chairman while Urban Development Minister Satyendar Jain will be its Vice-Chairman.
The authority will have a total of 34 members, including seven legislators and bureaucrats from the central and state governments, Jain told reporters here.
Aam Aadmi Party lawmakers Rajesh Gupta, Nitin Tyagi, Vishesh Ravi, Sanjeev Jha, Rakhi Birla, Bhavna Gaur, and Adarsh Shastri will be the SNA members.
The Minister said the authority will expedite clearance of pending proposals on naming roads in Delhi.
