The Delhi government will develop the city's Karol Bagh area, which has several major markets, as a world class tourist and trader-friendly destination, an official statement said on Thursday.
"Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra convened a multiple agency meeting to make Karol Bagh a world-class tourist and trader-friendly destination," it said.
Karol Bagh legislator Vishesh Ravi along with officials from Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Tourism, Delhi Development Authority attended the high-level meeting.
"In the meeting it was decided to expedite the existing and overdue plans by MCD and DDA. Pedestrianization of Karol Bagh and traffic management in the area was discussed for immediate implementation," the statement said.
