Delhi key market for fashion, luxury: Manish Malhotra

Bollywood's celebrated designer Manish Malhotra brings refined luxury to the capital with his first standalone store here. He believes the city is an important market for the business of fashion and luxury.

His one-of-a-kind store is located in a haveli that spreads across 6,000 sq ft in Mehrauli here. The doors to the store were opened earlier this month.

"Delhi has been very close to my heart and has always given an overwhelming response to my craft. I am thrilled to open my first ever flagship store in the capital," Malhotra told IANS.

"It is undeniably one of the key markets for fashion and luxury...the North Indian consumer enjoys luxury like no other - be it luxury of space, service or lifestyle," he added.

The decor of the facility is contemporary, and the primary colours used are grey and gold, which add an aura of elegance and encapsulates the mesmerising charm of the designer's signature style.

It houses the designer's latest couture pieces, inspired from the 1930s to all his signature bridal collection and the latest Diffusion line, which is lighter and a modern collection, including lehengas, saris, anarkalis, lighter luxe line of colour-blocked tunics with pants, cape tunics, sherwani jackets, ghagras and sharara pants for women.

Men can choose from a range of bandgalas, bandi jackets, shirts and kurtas.
