Station House Officers (SHOs) of Delhi Police have been asked to be more sensitive towards crime against women, sources said.
Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi in a meeting instructed all SHOs to be more sensitive while dealing with cases of crimes against women. Delhi Police have over 84,000 personnel.
The meeting was held at the Shah Auditorium in north Delhi Wednesday evening.
Sources said the meeting was held to motivate inspectors of all 182 police stations in the city.
The police chief also referred to complaints he received about improper action by police officials.
Till mid-April, 530 rapes and 1,170 molestation and harassment cases were registered in Delhi.
