Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Verma on Friday congratulated 261 constables on the successful completion of their training, at the Passing Out Parade (POP).
The 261 constables include 27 women constables, 15 constables (driver) of Delhi Police, 147 jail warders and 26 matrons of the Delhi Jail.
The combined POP was held at the Delhi Police Training College in Jharoda Kalan here, according to police officers. During their basic training, all the skills required for their profession are imparted.
The constables have been trained in Law, Police Science, Criminology, Computer Application, Cyber Crime and Human Rights, with special thrust on professionalism, discipline and good behaviour. They were also given lessons on crime against women, children and senior citizens, a senior police officer said.
Addressing the recruits, Verma hoped that they would always remain ahead of time by improving their professional skills to serve the public with a humanitarian approach and congratulated the drill staff as well as the faculty of the college.
"Unbiased service to the public helps in building trust. The uptick in crime and its nature makes it imperative for the police force to be updated and up-skilled in latest technology, along with physical and mental agility," the Police Commissioner said.
Verma also highlighted the fact that the Delhi Police personnel have to work hard to establish trust and faith with the public so as to create a collaborative influence.
