It's the launch of a decor and lifestyle product, but with a difference. International brand Bring Home Stories(BHS) will unveil its range at an especially designed painting and art exhibition inspired by the capital's Phoolmandi ( wholesale flower market)
From the screening of short films tracing the journey of flowers, portrait of flower sellers to art works and canvas prints - the vent will see various aspects of Phoolmandi on June 1 here.
BHS has collaborated with lifestyle store Indian August for the two-day exhibition that will take place at Indian August store in Noida, said a statement.
One of the highlights of the event will be special screening of short films, including "Indian Cinema and Flowers", which showcase importance of flowers in Indian cinema, celebrating 100 years, with references like "Sasural gendha phool" and "Phool tumhe bheja hai khat mein".
Also, an animated show tracing the journey of Phoolmandi is the part of the exhibition. The show will depict the inception of Phoolmandi in the year 1869 and how the flowers travelled from across India to become part of people's prayers, celebrations, weddings and even funerals.
"Making of the Waistcoat" is another short film that will feature a video interview of Anees Master, whose expertise lies in making waistcoat.
Anees Master, who has spent 25 years in the Indian fashion industry, will not only talk about fashion and style, but also share the procedure and increasing level of workmanship that goes into making a waistcoat.
