The body of a three-year-old boy was on Saturday found inside a jute sack dumped in a drain in the national capital, police said.
The sack containing the body of the boy, missing since Tuesday, was spotted in a drain by locals at Jwalapuri locality near Nangloi in west Delhi, who telephoned the police.
"The boy was missing since October 20 and a case of kidnapping was registered. We have detained one person, a neighbour, who is suspected to have abducted the boy, a senior police official told IANS.
A case of murder has been registered and investigation launched, police said.
The body was sent for a post-mortem examination and later handed over to the relatives. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained, the official said, adding, "It's too early to say but sodomisation cannot be ruled out".
