The number of people infected with dengue in Odisha so far this year has risen to 4,379, with 200 more cases reported in last two days, an official said here Wednesday.
"About 200 people have tested positive for dengue in the past two days," a senior official of the state health department told IANS.
The districts of Jagatsinghpur and Balasore have reported the highest of 50 new cases each, while 40 cases have been reported from the district of Jajpur, he said.
Nine people have died due to dengue, he said.
Last year around this time, 6,348 people tested positive for dengue in the state. Five of them died, he added.
