The national capital Monday was wrapped in the season's worst fog, bringing the temperature down to 6.6 degree Celsius, a notch below the season's average. Thr Met office has forecast a foggy morning but a clear Tuesday.
The maximum and the minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius and 7 degrees Celsius, respectively.
"The day will begin with dense fog but the sky will be clear and climate moderate," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
As many as 51 flights were cancelled since Sunday midnight. Monday morning started with dense fog but there were hardly any cancellations after 8 a.m. Monday, data from the Indira Gandhi International airport said.
According to the data of the Northern Railways, two trains were cancelled, 21 rescheduled and 44 were running late due to the fog in the northern parts of India.
Monday morning, visibility dropped to 300 metres.
The maximum temperature Monday morning settled one notch below the season's average at 19 degrees Celsius.
Sunday's maximum temperature settled one notch below the season's average at 19.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 7.8 degrees Celsius.
