Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's defiant 92 not out took India to 247/9 in 50 overs against South Africa during their second One-Day International (ODI) at the Holkar Cricket Stadium here on Wednesday.
Dhoni's 60th ODI fifty and Ajinkya Rahane's 52 -- his eighth half-century -- helped India put up a fighting total even though others failed against the disciplined South African bowlers.
Pacer Dale Steyn picked up 3-49, while fellow pacer Morne Morkel and leg-spinner Imran Tahir picked up two wickets each.
