"Blood Diamond" fame actor Djimon Hounsou, who will be seen in the second season of TV series "Wayward Pines", feels television offers so much more in terms of experience and themes.
"I think TV also offers you a platform in which you can -- when you're doing a film, you're doing that film, and it's that theme that you're exploring in the film. But when you're doing TV, you explore so many different themes through telling a TV -- yeah," Hounsou said in a statement.
The actor has starred in movies like "Guardians of the Galaxy", "Gladiator" and "The Vatican Tapes", and has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Academy Awards.
Manoj Night Shyamalan's TV series "Wayward Pines" stars Matt Dillon as Ethan Burke, a US Secret Service agent investigating the disappearance of two fellow agents in the mysterious small town of Wayward Pines, Idaho.
Hounsou will be seen as CJ Mitchum, who is a historian, privy to all the secrets of the town. He said: "My character knows all the secrets of Wayward Pines."
The series also features Indian actress Nimrat Kaur. The second Season of "Wayward Pines" will air on Star World Premiere HD from Friday.
