Realty major DLF has denied wrongdoing on the issue of membership in an exclusive club which it had to purportedly built for the residents of one of its properties in Gurgaon -- a matter which has resulted in a police complaint.

"We have learnt from media reports that a complaint has been filed against the company and its directors with regard to the membership and management of one of the clubs located in DLF City Phase V, Gurgaon, functioning under the name of 'Club Vita'," a DLF spokesperson said.

"Club Vita has a membership of over 500 who use its facilities on a regular basis on a very nominal charge. It is stated that no buyer of the apartments was charged any amount towards making of this club. Therefore, we strongly deny allegations of any wrong-doing," the spokesperson added.

"All actions taken by the company are in full compliance of all applicable laws and regulations. The company is fully confident of its ability to demonstrate its bonafides and conduct, being given an opportunity to do the same," the company said in an e-mail to IANS.

Assistant commissioner of Sushant Lok Police Station, Rajesh Kumar, had said Tuesday that a case has been registered against the company's chairman, vice chairman, director and senior officials for cheating and breach of trust on a complaint of the Park Place Homebuyers Association.

"Looking at the seriousness of complaint, we immediately registered a case against several officials, including the chairman," Kumar told IANS.

The association said in its complaint that as per a written agreement with DLF, the realtor had to build an exclusive club with all modern facilities for them and was supposed to hand it over to the Park Place Condominium Association. But buyers were not giving charge.
