The DMK's high-level strategy committee Monday decided to set up a panel to make recommendations on internal restructuring.
It also demanded introducing proportional representation and condemned the Election Commission for "acting in favour of the AIADMK" during the Lok Sabha election.
The high-level committee met here to take stock of the party's debacle in the recently concluded general election in which it drew a blank.
The panel resolved to set up a group to recommend steps for internal restructuring to make the organisational structure simple and strong.
Based on the recommendations, the party would decide and amend its regulations.
The committee also decided to get reports from the candidates who contested the election. These have to be submitted to party president M. Karunanidhi by June 15.
The panel also urged the party high command to take appropriate action based on the reports.
