DMRC contractor fined for shifting trees

GYT-TPL, a joint venture of Tata and Guangdong Yuantian Engineering Company of China, which is building the Delhi Metro extension line from Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand in Ghaziabad has been fined Rs.1 lakh by the forest department for shifting a dozen green trees without permission.

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Joga Singh said the company has paid the fine which was imposed for shifting 12 small trees planted alongside the boundary wall of the PWD guest house to make way for the Metro construction work.
