Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday said history would be kinder to him than the media or the opposition and that he had done as best as he could do despite the pulls and pushes of a coalition.

To a question if he found it difficult to rein in the different UPA partners and act politically, he said: "I honestly feel that history will be kinder to me than contemporary media or for that matter the opposition.

"I cannot divulge all the things that take place in the cabinet system of government. Taking into account the circumstances and compulsions of coalition polity, I have done as best as I could do under the circumstances."
