A 35-year-old man hacked his 50-year-old mother to death early Saturday in a shantytown under Etmauddaula police station.
Police said the accused, Rahul, was seen by a friend burying the body parts in a room where he had dug a pit. The friend told neighbours, who informed the police.
Tej Singh, the father of the accused said, his son was an alcoholic and would often indulge in fights with the family members. He had got married around eight months ago, but his wife left him since he was unemployed. His eyes were set on a small plot of land owned by his mother.
