DU to begin sports category admissions from May 28

Delhi University will begin registration of students for admission through sports category on May 28, along with its online admission registration to undergraduate courses, a statement said here on Friday.

Various colleges would put up the notification about the number of seats and their requirements on May 27.

The University Sports Council would conduct the fitness test from June 18 to 20 at the university's Polo Ground 9 a.m. onward, the results of which would be declared by June 22.

The Delhi University statement said it was essential for the candidates to clear any one fitness test item -- strength, endurance and speed -- for consideration of admission in chess, shooting and archery.

However, for other sports, candidates will have to clear two of the fitness tests.

Once the candidates clear the fitness trials, they would be eligible for the sports trials to be conducted by the colleges -- which would begin from June 23.

The admissions for the sports category would be conducted until June 15.
