The Centre has decided to increase the duration of tourist visas from one year to five years with multiple entry facility for Bangladesh citizens above the age of 65, an official release said on Friday.

The decision has been taken in pursuance of the government's stated policy for easing visa norms for the promotion of tourism, it said.

"Indian Missions in Bangladesh will henceforth extend this facility to the Bangladeshi applicants," it said.

This will further strengthen the bilateral relations and the people-to-people contacts, the release added.
