According to the railway authorities, the ER was able to load 67.247 million tonne against the Railway Board's target of 65 million tonne for the last fiscal year.
Earnings from the freight loading operations grew by Rs.715.06 crore at Rs.5,596.16 crore during 2014-15 against Rs.4,881.1 crore for 2013-14 implying an increase of 14.65 percent.
"This is considered as the best ever loading over Eastern Railway for any financial year after bifurcation," ER said in a statement.
