Two police officers were shifted in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district ahead of the polls there in the sixth and final phase of West Bengal assembly elections on May 5, officials said on Friday.
"Inspector in charge Sitai and sub-divisional police officer Tufanganj have been removed," said an Election Commission official.
In a series of transfers, the EC has shifted over 50 policemen during the ongoing polls.
While 53 constituencies spread across the districts of South 24 Parganas, Kolkata and Hooghly go to the polls on Saturday for the fifth phase, polling in 25 constituencies in Cooch Behar and East Midnapore districts will held in the final phase.--IANS
